KEIZER - Earlene Iris Luttrell Anderson, born November 16, 1926, in Dewey, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully May 28, 2012, in Salem, Oregon, with her family constantly vigilant at her bedside. She was 85.
Raised in Oklahoma and Nebraska, Earlene came to Oregon after the war and worked as a telephone operator where she made many friends and acquaintances which led her to meet our father, Kenneth Alfred Anderson. They married March 2, l948.
As well as being a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, Earlene was an avid gardener, a gifted seamstress and a master food-preserver. She was impassioned by her volunteer work at the Elsinore Theatre spending many hours organizing her volunteer team for the various events held there.
She was a proud citizen of the Cherokee Nation.
Earlene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Barrie Lasure of Bend, Oregon; her son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Beth Anderson of Lebanon, Oregon; by her son, Scott of Albany, Oregon, and by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by our father, Kenneth Alfred Anderson and by her brother, Jack Allen Luttrell.
At her request, there will be no formal funeral, but a private graveside service will be held with internment at Belcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in her name to the Historic Elsinore Theatre in care of Steve Martin, 170 High Street SE, Salem, Oregon, 97301.
