She was born in Benkelman, Nebraska to Archie Burks and Dorothy Minnie Ferguson on September 13, 1938. She was 85.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Vonley Jeffers and they shared three children together. Michael, Terrence and Melanie (David) Moothart.
She was also preceded in death by her second husband, David Philp. They were married for 35 years.
She is survived by six grandchildren: Nicole (Jon) Phelps, Mathew Jeffers, Teresa Jeffers, Samantha Jeffers, Zachary Jeffers and Ricci Swift. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
She graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1955 where she enjoyed singing in the choir.
She attended First Church of the Nazarene all her life. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, playing the piano, singing hymns in the church choir and traveling with her husband, David.
There will be visitation/reception at Howell, Edwards, Doerksen located at 1350 Commercial Street South, Salem, Oregon from 2-4 on Saturday March 2, 2024.
There will be a public graveside service at Gilliland Cemetery located at 4990 Airport Road, Sweethome, Oregon at 2:00 pm on Tuesday March 5, 2024.
