Bonnie was born in Salem to (Abe) Bob and (Adda) Faye Schwartz on July 18, 1930. She was the youngest of three children and was preceded in death by her brothers Robert (Bob) and Allen Schwartz. She attended Highland elementary, Parish Jr High and Salem High School. She was a graduate of the class of 1948. She married Gerald Holman on February 21, 1957. They made their home in northeast Salem at the same residence for 60 years.
Bonnie loved serving people and was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper for Dr. Brown Optometrist, The Ink Spot, Barnes Surveying and Engineering, and was church secretary at Englewood United Methodist Church, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, and The Temple Beth Shalom. She was very generous and has had many friends who love her and enjoyed her enthusiasm and ability to make any gathering fun. She was skilled at making crafts and enjoyed selling her creations at an annual church bizarre.
Bonnie is survived by her husband Jerry, daughters, Sheri Long and Sandra Holman, 11 grandchildren, one of whom preceded her in death and 12 great grandchildren.
Bonnie would like to express special gratitude to the many care givers that have enabled her and Jerry to remain together in their home in their aging years.
Internment is at Bellcrest Memorial Park at 11:00 AM Saturday February, 24 and a memorial service is being held at 2:00 that same afternoon at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1998 Lansing Ave. NE.
