Barbara Ann Dawes

Barbara Ann Dawes passed away peacefully in Salem, OR. on November 30th, 2020 at the age of 80.  Gratefully she was surrounded by family and the prayers of many.  She is survived by her seven children, Tamera Sohn, Laurie Smith, Todd Putnam, Dean Putnam, Quintin Putnam, Carrie Mendezona, and Jamie Guastaferro, and 17 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Barbara was born to Alfred & Magdalene Mary Huber in Silverton, Oregon on Feb 4th, 1940.  She grew up on the family farm in Mt. Angel with her eleven siblings.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Ken Dawes on January 18th, 2018.  They married on Feb. 15th, 1974 in Salem, OR., and settled into raising their seven children together.

"Bobbi" as she preferred to be called, had a huge heart and passion for children.  She extended that gifting beyond her family by offering professional childcare in her home for most of their 44 years together.  She touched the lives of too many children to count as a surrogate parent, grandma, and teacher.

Bobbi Dawes will rest with her beloved Ken Dawes along with Darcy Dawes age 5 at Belcrest Memorial Cemetery in Salem, OR.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions concerning gatherings a memorial service has been postponed until a more suitable time.
