Art was born October 27, 1941, in Bakersfield, California, to Albert and Faye (Bradley) Fennell.
He attended Coalinga High School in Coalinga, CA. He continued his education at California Polytechnic State University, graduating with a masters degree in business administration. He worked for Agripac until 1979 and then for the State of Oregon until 2001 when he retired from the Oregon State Police/Oregon State Fire Marshall’s Office.
He enjoyed RVing and attending Escapees RV Club rallies with his wife Caroline. He was known for his sense of humor, his deep booming voice, and his love of God.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline (Thiem) Fennell, and his children, Sean Fennell, Kevleen Melcher, Kelly Darden, and Kristin Banning. As well as 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Salem, Or on Monday June 5, 2023 at 6:00 pm.
