Ardis Collier was born in Bellingham, Washington, on September 30th, 1939. Later in life, Ardis moved to Oregon. She attended and graduated from Central High School in 1957 in Monmouth, Oregon. In 1958, Ardis married Walt Sinclair and gave birth to her first child Jeni Sinclair in 1959. Her first son, Jeff Sinclair, was later born in 1961. Ardis was remarried to Harry Fast and gave birth to Darrin Fast in 1967. She gave birth to her youngest daughter in 1970, Tanya Fast.
Ardis Collier is mainly known for her career in Human Resources for WinCo Foods, where she retired. Ardis held many different occupations before settling at WinCo Foods, such as working as a waitress, grocery store owner-operator, real estate agent, cannery worker, and produce warehouse operator. Ardis had a passion for hunting and fishing. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, entertaining family and friends, relaxing at the beach, playing video poker, and always loved a good cocktail. Ardis was always game to do anything.
She lived her life to the fullest and loved everyone. She was a hardworking woman and a fighter. She survived a heart attack, beat cancer, and overcame many health struggles while maintaining a kind and graceful attitude. She knows that so many of you loved her too. We lost more than just a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend on July 2nd, 2023.
Ardis was predeceased, by her parents, Rowena Kortlever and Marshall Kortlever, her late husband, Harry Fast, her great friend William McMillan, and her brother Paul Kortlever. Her survivors include Walt Sinclair, Jeni Ritson, Jeff Sinclair, Darrin Fast, and Tanya Coreson. In addition to her children, her grandchildren Tony Sinclair, Matt Sinclair, Alex Fredrick, Emily Coreson, Austin Fast, Abi Coreson, Preston Penrose, and Cade Coreson survived her. Her great-grandchildren include Raegan Sinclair and Cylus Sinclair. In addition to her surviving siblings, Phil Laplant and Zelda Carter, she leaves behind a loving family who mourns her passing.
Ardis Collier’s body will be laid to rest at the Belcrest Memorial Park in Salem, Oregon, next to her mother, Rowena Kortlever, and father, Marshall Kortlever. In honor of her remarkable life, Howell Edwards Funeral Home, 1350 Commercial St SE, Salem, Oregon 97302, will hold a ceremony of life at 1:00 pm on July 28th. Ardis was most comfortable in casual clothes, so please dress casually.
