Keizer - It is with great sadness that the Gloria family announces the passing of Angelica, on Sunday, November 14th. She passed away at the age of 44. She battled cancer with great fortitude over the past year and is now at peace in Heaven with God. She was born in Ontario, Oregon.
She is survived by her two sons, Joseph Arturo Gloria and Cristian J. Garcia; her parents Arturo and Olga Gloria, her sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Jason Walling, her niece Jordan Nicole Rayburn (Levi) her nephew Junior Neal Walling, and aunts, uncles and numerous cousins, all of whom she loved dearly.
She graduated from McNary High School and attended the University of Oregon where she received her degree in Sociology and Architecture. She knew that her passion was in the educational field and went on to receive her teaching degree from Western Oregon University. She continued to fulfill her dream and earned her Master’s degree in Administration in Education from Portland State University. She was a genuine educator at heart.
Angelica was the principal at St. Vincent de Paul Dual Language Catholic School. She also worked as an educator in various positions at Central School District and Salem/Keizer School District.
Angelica leaves behind a legacy of outpouring love to all her friends, students and families and most of all to the migrant families at the migrant housing complex during the summer. Her passion was that of serving and giving to those who needed it most. She believed in living a simple and humble life. In her personal life, her two sons were her life and she was very proud of them. She enjoyed having barbecues with her family and friends. Besides spending time with her family and friends, Angelica had a passion for the outdoors, camping in her RV, taking road trips Texas to visit her relatives, going to the coast and running. She would run every single morning before going to work and in the evenings.
We want to express our gratitude to all the St. Vincent school and church staff and community members who surrounded her with so much love and support.
Our special thanks to the oncology staff at Salem Health and Oregon Oncology for the excellent care that was provided.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1010 Columbia Street N.E., Salem, Oregon.
