Dennis Craig Jackson (January 13, 1944 - August 21, 2022)
Amy Byram Naphtali Ferris Jackson (August 4, 1944 - August 21, 2022)
Denny : husband, dad, friend, brother, entrepreneur, and so much more... a relentless questioner of the narrative, and pursuer of the truth... bass player, potter, electrician, designer, craftsman, writer, tinkerer and dreamer. He was a highly skilled teller of original dad jokes. He gave questionable advice about money. Most recently known as Poppop. Denny hated all corruption and dishonest dealings. He ended his time here with the love of his life, Amy, in his beloved airplane.
Amy : wife, mom, sister, friend, grandma, comforter, harbor in a storm, maker of excellent soups and cookies... Amy was always on the move, looking for anyone that needed a friend or a helping hand... she loved adventures, libraries, her family, and butter. Anywhere Amy went, a community would seem to spring up around her. No stranger was safe from her overly personal questions. Her backrubs were legendary, and her hugs were warm and sincere. She ended her time here with one last joyride with the love of her life, Denny.
Both Amy and Denny had a deep faith in God. They are at peace in the presence of their Creator.
Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ Matthew 25:34-40
A celebration of life for Amy and Dennis will be held Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Salem Convention Center, 200 Commercial St SE, Salem, OR 97301.
