Richard Edward Shaffer of Marblehead, MA entered into rest on June 25, 2024 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Joan Sandra Shaffer. Devoted father of Elizabeth Lamb and Alyson Shaffer. Cherished grandfather of Zachary Lamb, Rebecca Lamb, Casper Zurosky and Hugo Zurosky. Proud great grandfather of Zander and Levi Lamb and Emmett Lamb. The loving brother of the late David Shaffer. Dear son of the late Sidney and Josephine Shaffer.
Richard grew up in Revere MA, graduated from Suffolk University and raised his family in Marblehead, MA. Richard worked in sales and advertising for most of his career. He founded his own home inspection business called Full Inspections towards the end of his career, which he was proud of and loved greatly. He was a dedicated member of Temple Beth El in Swampscott when his daughters were growing up. He loved golfing, watching sports, gardening and cooking on the grill. Richard cherished his time spent with family and friends.
A funeral service for Richard will be held on Friday, June 28,2024 at 10:00 AM at The Maple Hill Cemetery located at 98 Canterbury Drive, Peabody, MA 01960.
Shiva will be held at the home of Arlene and Jerry Silverlieb directly following the service.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
