Doris Joy Gilberg

Doris Gilberg of Peabody, entered into rest on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the age of 94. Beloved wife of Robert for 71 years. Devoted mother of Richard Gilberg, Nancy Gilberg, and Elizabeth Gilberg. Cherished grandmother of Adam and Sarah, the loving sister of Alice Shactman and Janet Mazier. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Sarah Hershman and her son Michael Gilberg.

She grew up in Lynn and graduated from Lynn Classical High School. She raised her family in Peabody, Lynnfield, and Salem and was a proud Homemaker. She was dedicated to the Boston Symphony Orchestra and loved symphony, all music, the outdoors, being in nature and fishing.

A Funeral Service for Doris will be held on Friday November 24th, 2023 at 11am at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin St, Salem, MA 01970. With interment to follow at Pride of Lynn Cemetery, Lake Shore Road, Lynn MA 01904.

Shiva will be held at the Kaplan Estates, 240 Lynnfield Street, Peabody, MA 01960 on Friday November 24th from 1-4pm. (Enter first building on right, sign in at front desk, take elevator to second floor go to Garden room)

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Boston Symphony Orchestra located at 301 Mass Ave, Boston MA.
