Bernice F. (Hamburg) Rosenthal of Marblehead, passed away peacefully in her home November 11, 2016 at the age of 91. Born March 10, 1925, Bernice grew up in the Boston area. She attended Boston Clerical School and went on to work for her father’s family business, the Bromfield Pen Shop, starting in the mid 1950s and continuing after his death. Loving and caring wife of her late husband Dr. Sidney Rosenthal of 67 years, Bernice spent many years in Sharon and Newton, and eventually moved to Marblehead in 1981 where, over the years, they enjoyed being by the ocean and their many friendships. Known by all as extremely good-natured, selfless, and kind, Bernice always put others before herself. Bernice is survived by her very close sister Pauline Lurie, formally of New Jersey, her three children Marcia Parker, Fred Rosenthal and his wife Michele, Franny McKeever and her husband Chuck of Marblehead, nine grandchildren Maddy, Joe, Marina, and Tommy McKeever, Julie Rosenthal, Kimberly and Cynthia Van Tassel, Julian and Sabrina Davis, and her great-grandchild Orion Davis. Bernice’s beautiful spirit will be greatly missed by all. Graveside services will be held at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 10:45 AM with a memorial observance following the graveside service on Monday at the home of Fred & Michele Rosenthal. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bernice’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
