Rickey James Romero

ST. MARTINVILLE – MEMORIAL Services will be conducted for Rickey James Romero, age 64, at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church with Fr. Keith LaBauve officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.

A native and resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Romero passed away at 1:40 am on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Ocshner Medical Center in Baton Rouge.

Rickey had a love for outdoors and animals, especially horses. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his sister, Kathy Kalweit and husband Ray of Cade; nephew, Ty Kalweit; niece, Natalie Rae Foti; great nephew, Dawson Kalweit and great nieces, Gabrielle Foti and Mia Foti.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jacob Bernard Romero and his parents, Wiley and Verna Champagne Romero; paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Claude Romero and maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Lucius Champagne.

Donations may be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
