PARKS – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Michael Keith Dugas, age 59, at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Fr. Brad Guillory will be the celebrant for the services. Inurnment will be held privately at a later date at St. Michael’s Mausoleum in St. Martinville.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until service time at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday.
A native of St. Martinville and resident of Parks, Mr. Dugas passed away at 5:52 pm on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Dugas began his career as a meat cutter alongside his father in the family owned store, Randal Dugas’. He also worked at Joyce’s and Delchamps and was currently employed at Hebert’s Meat Market. He enjoyed working out, lifting weights and Karate. He also liked watching wrestling, UFC and the New York Yankees on television. He was a very good cook who loved creating new and exciting dishes and of course his famous rice and gravy for his wife and son. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years Yvonne Landry Dugas of Parks; one son, David Michael Dugas and his partner Jodie Dautreuil of Breaux Bridge; his parents, Clet L. and MaryLou Degeyter Lasseigne of Parks; one brother, John Lee Dugas and his wife Jenine of Parks and four sisters, Fay D. Guidry and husband Kirby of Sanmiguel, Mexico; Gypsy D. Bryan and husband Bobby and Alice D. Greer and husband Bob all of Baton Rouge and Doreen D. Durand and husband Sprinky of St. Martinville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Randol Antoine Dugas and three brothers, Randal Roy Dugas, Claude Lance Dugas and Philip James Dugas.
Pallbearers will be David Michael Dugas, Michael Robertson, John L. Dugas, Gordy Guilbeau, Clifford Theriot and Danny Dore.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-1905 and/or MD Anderson Hospital, and/or The University of Texas, MD Cancer Center, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486.
