My deepest prayers & condolences to the Trans & Steff O. & the boys. Tu is an integral part of who I am today, one of my lifelong best friends. I had to work yesterday, on a deadline for work at The Telegraph, a daily newspaper, where I had to write & edit for the Sunday paper, today's (Feb. 11, 2018) edition. Tu & I talked about starting a newsletter - for which he came up with the name we'd call it - he named it The Rice Paper - he'd be the publisher. Other responsibilities & commitments prevented us from actually doing it, and lack of financial backing, but had we launched The Rice Paper, we would have sought a grant or philanthropic support. After a press thing one night in STL  about 8-10 months ago, (I've lived in Metro East for the last 12 years, & couldn't pop in to my favorite S. Grand places, like I used to 4-5 nights a week) I went afterward to see Tu. We had the best hug in the world, grabbed each other, said how we missed & loved each other. We hung out for a few hours at tables outside at Mekong on the corner. It was bliss. I love u Tu!

I knew Tu from the neighborhood. I used to stop in Mekong and chat with him while having a lemonaid... we became friends, rode to art class together. He talked about his dream of opening a place upstairs from the restaurant, an after hours lounge with music. In 1996, we painted the Olympic Rings on the front windows of the old Woolsworth building for the torch run. Those are my fondest memories of Tu. He was such a sweet person and for many years, I loved seeing him wether it was a night at the Upstairs Lounge, or just driving by and seeing him standing outside the restaurant. He always felt like home to me and he will be missed. My deepest condolences to the Tran family.

It has been awhile since I talked with Tu, he was always a joy to talk to or play against in shuffleboard. We played some softball and had a few drinks. He was taken too soon. 
To the family you are in my families prayers and thoughts. Tu willed be missed.

Truly grateful for the true friendship Tu and I shared.  Tu, a genuine artist, an original and rare soul - who really put a ding in the universe! Some of my favorite moments TUgether were on the softball diamond and of course the dance floor! 
I realize now, I LOVE you too, TU!

I am so sorry, that Tu left before us to join our maker.  We will join him later, each of us.  Tu you have always and will always be loved by many here on earth.
