Crandell, Susan Nuelle, 67, of Kirkwood, MO passed away peacefully at her home on March 27, 2011. Born March 28, 1943 in St. Louis, MO, Susan was a graduate of Mary Queen of Peace and Villa Duchesne in St. Louis, attended Incarnate World College in San Antonio, TX and graduated from St. Louis University with a degree in English, and from Sangamon State University in Springfield, IL with a Masters in Social Work.
An avid writer, Susan published "Snippets" in 1995, a compilation of some of her most popular columns when she was a writer for newspapers in West-Central Illinois.
Susan most enjoyed time with her friends and family, especially her beloved grandsons, and will be greatly missed. Susan enjoyed life to its fullest. She loved to keep everyone laughing and was often seen around town dressed as a flamingo lady or nun, suprising friends and family. A Celebration of Life party was held by Susan last june to enjoy time with her lifelong friends and loving family.
Susan is survived by her children, Julie (Richard) LaBonte of Creve Coeur, MO and Rosemary Stendeback of Kirkwood, MO; her three grandchildren, Jack (10), Roland (7) and Graham (4); and her brother William Nuelle. She was preceded in death by her dear parents, Rosemary Hynes and William J. Nuelle.
A private burial is being held. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities or American Cancer Society.
