Pat was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on December 12, 1936. Her family later moved to Paw Paw, West Virginia where she met and eventually married her life-long partner, confidant, lover, and all round Shit Disturber, James A. Simmons (Retired MSgt). Over the next 26 years, she kept the home on solid ground as they served throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries. After retiring Pat and Jim spent the next 30 years, first in Bumpus Mills, TN and finally settling in Deltona, FL.
Pat was a devout Catholic, helping to establish a Catholic Church in Bumpus Mills, TN. Pat was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Moose Lodge, and a life time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). She enjoyed card games, sewing, baking, and spending time with friends and family.
Pat is survived by her son, James L. Simmons (wife Caralynn): daughter, Teresa A. Brewer (husband Jackie); ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Timothy and Katherine Cadigan; her husband, James A. Simmons of Deltona, FL; her son, Timothy A. Simmons of Lawrenceville, GA; two brothers, and three sisters.
A committal service will be planed in Paw Paw, West Virginia at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks on their mother's behalf, that you make a contribution to an organization in your community that supports Veterans and their families.
