Daughter of the late Norma and Erwin Willenbrock of St. Louis, and sister to Jane Altmayer and Mary Lou Hinzpeter. Nancy is survived by her husband, William of Naples Florida, daughters Cynthia and Pamela and two grandchildren, Max and Ella, all residing in in Chicago.
Nancy was an avid golfer, loved to dance, read, cook and traveled extensively throughout the world with her daughter Pamela. Nancy held both a Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree in Education and dedicated her career to the education of children, both special needs and gifted. She was featured in the tenth edition of Who’s Who of American Women for her work.
In 2015, Nancy e-published Soul Mother F..k.r, her teaching memoir recounting her twenty-five-year journey and the difficulties she encountered while working as a teacher, administrator and child advocate. In retirement, Nancy split her time between Naples Florida and Chicago, enjoying winters in Florida with her husband and summers with her children and grandchildren in Chicago.
Nancy was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Chicago.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 26 from 11am to 1pm, with service at 1pm, Kriegshauser West Mortuary 9450 Olive Blvd St. Louis MO 63132. Interment immediately following at St. Paul’s Cemetery 9801 Olive Blvd. 63141.
