Mark Randall Richardson was born August 31, 1954 in Linton, Indiana and passed away on March 1, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Mark was the cherished brother of Diana Richardson Wagner and dear brother-in-law of Michael Wagner; dearest uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many. Mark was the devoted son of Thomas J. and Nancy A. Richardson who predeceased him.
Mark lived in St. Louis his entire life and graduated from McCluer High School in 1972. Mark started a long career in histology beginning at St. Luke’s East Hospital in 1972 and ending with his unfortunate early retirement from St. Luke’s West due to disability in September, 2018..
Mark’s passions were fishing, fish, classic muscle cars (especially his beloved Plymouth Barracuda), rocks and fossils, fine arts, history, nature, and beautiful women.
Mark was a soft-spoken gentle soul who had a great, quirky, sense of humor. He was generous to a fault and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. As a recovering alcoholic, Mark was always trying to help those still struggling with the disease. He never forgot where he came from or the demons he fought. Mark endured many obstacles in his life but was very proud of his 20+ years of sobriety. He was dealt a cruel hand with several tough diseases in the last several years of his life but Mark never felt sorry for him or wallowed in self- pity. He handled his challenges with grit and courage. He maintained hope and fought till the end.
