Marilyn (nee Thomas) was born September 18, 1935 to the late Helen and Leonard Thomas. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry A. Ferrario; cherished mother of Tracy (Eric) Duchinsky, Sue (Alan Loehr) Ferrario; loving grandmother of Sarah (Peter) Zylka and Jessica Duchinsky (Manny Diaz); treasured great-grandmother (Gigi) of Lucy, Rosie, Iris, and Mia; dear sister of the late Dale (Dot) Thomas, late Dot Colby, Dean (Faye) Thomas, late Vernon ( late Karen) Thomas, and the late Gerry (Len) Mantych; sister-in-law, aunt and friend.
In 1958 Marilyn and Henry got married and happily moved into their first home on The Hill, which was their forever home. She was a receptionist / secretary and became a stay-at-home mom when their first child, Tracy, was born.
She loved being there for their girls, Tracy & Sue; having neighborhood kids over to play, and throwing popcorn and pool parties, and the board & card games on the front porch or at the kitchen table. She said at one time, she felt like her backyard was like a nursery school and she loved every minute of it!
She was an involved parent and enjoyed volunteering St. Ambrose School as a Room Mother, Lunch Lady, Brownie Leader, School Librarian & Great Books Leader.
After Sue, their youngest daughter, started high school, she went back to work. Happy employment at the library, she called it.
Marilyn worked for the St. Louis Public Library for 25 years which she loved and served on the Shaw Community School Board in conjunction with that, for over 10 years; a great fit, due to her love of reading and service.
Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church she died peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 10.
