Lynda and her sisters were raised in Wichita, Kansas. One of Lynda’s greatest achievements was that she worked hard to put herself through school, graduating from Abilene Christian College in Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in geology in 1980. After college, Lynda went to work as a petroleum geologist in the Texas oil patch. After the price of oil fell in the late 1980’s, Lynda got a job as a Cartographer for the Defense Mapping Agency (DMA) in Bethesda, Maryland. Later she transferred to the DMA facility in St Louis where she met her husband Bob. In 2004, Lynda decided on a new career field within the Agency and became an Imagery Analyst. Because of health issues, Lynda retired from DMA’s successor agency, the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) in 2007. Lynda took great pride in her 18+ year career at DMA/NGA where she worked on many team projects supporting the security of the American people and our Allies in US military actions all over the globe.
Lynda’s son Brandon was the light of her life. Lynda raised Brandon as a single mother in South St Louis. Lynda had a special bond with animals and doted on her various cats over the years. She loved the serene country environment of her Dupo home on the wooded bluffs overlooking the picturesque Mississippi River valley.
Lynda was a beautiful child and woman and will be greatly missed by many family and friends in Wichita, St Louis, northern Virginia and Texas. Lynda had a creative sense of fashion and loved to shop for bargain at second hand clothing stores. Before health concerns arose later in life, Lynda was a dedicated health and fitness buff who ran several miles every day religiously.
Our Dear Lynda will be remembered for her beautiful smile, infectious laughter, bravery and feisty attitude.
