Domina was one of the people in my life that I can truly say was a shining light. She cared deeply for her family and spoke of them often in class with the biggest smile. She was a proud mother and I admired her passion and commitment to her family and students.

She called me G. R. God Bless you, Domina!

Domina Creed was truly one of a kind.  She cared so much for her students and she obviously loved teaching.  I don't think I would have taken 4 years of Latin if not for her!  Praying for her and for her family.

I taught across the hall from Domina Creed for 15 years.  She was truly one of a kind. She was passionate about teaching, kind to her students, and a friend to all.  The world is a smaller place without her.  I am sure she is with the other angels now conjugating Latin verbs and calling them her "little cupcakes" and cracking them up. She was a unique and special human being. How lucky we are to have known her.

My favorite teacher at St Joe-so vibrant and full of energy.  She made 4 years of Latin class enjoyable.  Prayers for her and her family.

I am grateful & privileged to have known her and saddened by the news of her death. She was a treasure and a treat to have as homeroom(D, I think) teacher at St. Joe.

Lovely woman, great teacher...whenever I think of her, I smile and remember her wonderful sense of humor and warm heart. She will be missed, prayers for her and her family.

Even though I left St. Joseph in 1994, Kathleen never failed to call me on my birthday every year since.  My warmest memory of her from teaching together was she always made you feel special, as if you were the only one in the room when she walked in.

Mrs. Creed began teaching Latin at St. Joe in the early 80's to a small number of students in a tiny classroom next to the convent and chapel. While most parents would likely remember her passion for teaching the classics, her growing student following (including myself and my four younger sisters) will remember the love of story telling, strength, attention to detail, quick wit, and authenticity she shared with those she taught.

Kathleen was one of the kindest people I had the pleasure to know.  She always had positive things to say, even when there was little reason to be happy.  Loved running into her at different stores to share life.  Rest In Peace, Amen.

My life is better having known Domina Creed. She was one of my favorite parts of St. Joe, and I often thought of her after I became a teacher myself. Her heart was in everything she did for her students, and we missed her like crazy when she left on maternity leave after having her youngest. Nobody taught Latin like her...or told jokes like her...or got all hot and bothered over how handsome Charlton Heston was in Ben Hur like her...or gave nicknames like her...or cared for "her girls" quite like her. I remember she actually called me at home after I had four teeth pulled to see how I was feeling. She was as sincere and compassionate as they come. I will never forget her kindness, her steel trap memory, her big smile, how quickly she walked everywhere, or her favorite piece of advice: "Semper ubi sub ubi"...always wear underwear.

My sincerest condolences to the family. She left her corner of the world a better place, which is why so many will grieve her passing. Rest well, Domina Creed. Now you really are an angel.

Domina was a woman of enduring kindness. Regardless of how others treated her, she refused to act in any way but the ways of love. Veni, vidi, vici , indeed

I am so honored to have known Mama C.  Her love for her family was second to none.  She amazingly raised three wonderful kids who loved their mother more than life itself. She will always be such an inspiration to me as I raise kids of my own.  I love this family dearly and am so sad that she was taken from them so soon.  I know she will be watching over her children, grandchildren, and future grandchildren always from heaven.  Praying and love you all.

I only met Kathleen once or twice. I unfortunately do not remember much about her. However, she must have been an angel. Her son Jimmy is one of my favorite people on the planet. He has the kindest heart and greatest way to make people smile. She no doubt has touched him in an amazing way. Thanks to Kathleen, I have Jimmy! I am very sorry for your loss Creed family and friends. Much love!

Sad to hear this. Domina was one of THE formative teachers in my life. She cared. She was funny. I loved her.

There's so much I want to say about Domina Creed, and I'm not sure I know how to put it into words, but for her- I'm going to try. She was the kind of teacher who knew everyone's name she ever taught. If, while she was taking roll call on the first day of school and she had taught your sibling she would often exclaim: "Oh yes! So and so! She sat in row four, seat two. How is she?" 

The day before prom, she would make all the seniors go around and describe their dress, their date, and what they were doing before and after. She cared that much about our lives outside of school, that when we were excited, so was she. 

Domina was also hilariously funny. If we got a translation wrong or even right, she would get so excited, sink into her chair and exclaim: "Oh my goodness, girls! I think I need my wine!" 

I guess what I'm trying to say is that she made you feel like you mattered. That you were so important she would never forget your name, face, or where you sat in her room. It was Maya Angelou that said: "People may forget what you say, but they'll never forget how you make them feel." Domina Creed was the epitome of this, and she'll be sorely missed. And now, I'm going to end with what she would say to us at the end of each class. "I'll see you later, Domina, if God is willing and the creeks don't rise."

Kathleen was our neighbor for 16 years. While she was teaching we really didn't connect but once she retired we became friends.,she loved seeing our dogs and always asked about our family. She liked giving Johnnie his favorite soda for his birthday. We kept in contact after we moved and I talked to her about once a month and she always asked about all our family she had met through the years. I will miss having her to call. So sad she is gone.
