Joseph A. Bergman age 82, of Arnold, passed on Aug. 19, 2016. He was born June 30, 1934 in Baileyville, KS. In 1994 he retired as a Professor of English at St. Louis Community College. Mr. Bergman is survived by his wife, Sue Bergman, of Arnold; two daughters, Barbara Reid, Columbia, MO, and Kathryn Bergman, Arcata CA, a step-daughter Jill Brethauer of Arnold; five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and one step- great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter Elizabeth Bergman of Columbia, MO. A funeral service will be held 5 pm Friday, Aug. 26, at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, 63125. A reception will follow. Visitation is from 3 pm until time of service. Interment of cremated remains will be held 2 pm. Sept. 1 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
