Ellie was both my aunt and my godmother.  When I was small and she lived with grandma in Pittsburgh she would make stuffed peppers and cakes with blue frosting decorations; to this day I associate blue frosting trip with my aunt!  She always had a view on history and loved visiting historic homes and sites.  I remember Daniel Boone's home very well as it was not at all what I expected and touring the homes built during the World's Fair in 2003.  I also remember her and George's wedding very well; it was New Year's Eve, Elvis was in town and the traffic was amazing getting into his concert.  And there was a glassed in elevator to the reception site and it was so cold on New Year's Eve that the glass was frosted in but still very exciting for a 14 year old!  Rest in peace....

Ellie was my Mom's sister.  Together, they shared 73 years together; sharing all of the major events (births, marriages, holidays) that close sisters can have.   Ellie was my Mom's younger sister by 14 years so my Mom developed a very sisterly *and* maternal care taking role for Ellie.  For most of their adult lives, they lived geographically apart but, I know Mom always cared deeply for Ellie.

Ellie had a playful and caring personality that made her one of our favorite relatives.  Ellie and her husband, George, had a wonderful caring marriage for more than 40 years.   Ellie will be sorely missed by her older sister, Greta Crisley, and most intensely by George.

I know Greta was always appreciative that her sister shared a wonderful marriage with George.  Ellie, thank you for all the great memories and being a caring Aunt to my kids -- Ben and Erin.

Ellie & I became good friends in graduate school at the University of Dayton in Ohio.
We were both in a small class of less than 15 in the 2 year M.A. Clinical Psychology program.
I have found memories of Ellie, not only as a colleague but also as a friend.

As part of our M.A., we all worked at least 20 hours weekly at Dayton Mental Health Center.
Ellie was dedicated to her job & her patients.
 
She was proud of her Irish heritage .
I remember how much she loved her dogs.

We have lost a person of integrity, compassion, &  enthusiasm.

Elinor was a great lady, met her at the (little green) house and her service to the fellowship will not be able to be duplicated. She tirelessly made the newcomer feel welcome and the regulars greeted with her smile and comforting welcome also. I was delighted to see an old friend when I was able to get the courage to volunteer at St. Louis Effort for Aids, learned about food day at Petsmart Brentwood once there was hooked what a wonderful anonymous way for me to give back to a dear friend from my youth who had passed from the illness but because of the stigma of those days feared being involved. Thank You Elinor, or how your friends and colleagues would address you miss Eli, you will be missed and fondly remembered. My Condolences go out to my Uncle George and the family at this sad time. Her kind and caring spirit will always be with me. It was a honor to have her as a Aunt and be part of are family. She will be greatly missed by everyone that got a chance to get too know her. Her Niece , Tania Haywood.

Eleanor was one of the most giving person I was honored to call my friend.  She touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by those fortunate enough to cross her path.  My empathy to her family and friends!
