Age 73 of Webster Groves, MO. Passed away in peace on April 26, 2019 at her home in the loving arms of her husband of 43 years, George J. Buzkij. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 30, 1945. Eleanor was the daughter of Ambros and Margaret (Schmitt) Coyle of Pittsburgh, PA.
Left to cherish her memory is her sister Greta Crisley of Needham, Mass. Eleanor is also survived by her two nieces and three nephews and countless beloved friends.
Eleanor attended Sacred Heart High school and earned her B.A. Degree in Psychology at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA followed by a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio. Her life and career was devoted to helping, service to others and advocating for people in need.
Eleanor’s career included work as a Psychologist in Dayton, OH. After marriage and relocating to St. Louis, MO in 1977 her career included: Executive Director of the United Cerebral Palsy of Southwestern Illinois, Program Director of the Volunteer Guardians Ad Litem (VGAL) a joint project of the St. Louis Juvenile Court and the Crusade Against Crime followed by Executive Director of PAWS/STL Pets Are Wonderful Support for People Living With HIV/AIDS.
Her life touched many and her generous spirit will be greatly missed.
SERVICES: Funeral Service, Tuesday, April 30th, 11 am at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa St.; St. Louis, MO 63109. Interment following at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation Monday, April 29th 4pm – 8pm at Hoffmeister Colonial. If desired, memorial donations in Ellie’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
