Carl Edward Lynch

Lynch, Carl E. was born on 6/11/1923, passed away surrounded by his family on 11/12/2010, at St. Anthony's Medical Center, St. Louis. Loving son of Carl A. and Elizabeth Lynch. Carl is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janet H. Lynch. He is also survived by his daughters, Colleen Cruse (Larry) and Cathy Manczuk Lynch (Bob Keith). Carl is survived by grandchildren, Jeremy Manczuk (Zofia), Jared Manczuk, Erin Embry (Jared) and Erika Cruse. Great-grandchildren, Macy and Jack Embry and Helena Manczuk. Carl was preceded in death by his beloved son and friend, Jack (2006). Carl is also survived by nieces and nephews, Terry Lynch, Tom Lynch, Peggy Lynch, Claude Lynch, Mark Lynch, Johnny Lynch, Robert Anderson and Barbara Lee Schmitz. Carl was preceded in death by brothers and sister, Robert P. Lynch, Roy Lynch and Ruth Anderson. Carl was a WWII Coast Guard Veteran and served his country in the Pacific Theatre on LST 168. Carl was a retired Iron Worker (Local 396). He was a devout family man and loved St. Louis, Mizzou and Notre Dame sports. Carl also loved history and politics. He and Janet enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 sates and Europe on numerous occasions. Carl and Janet recently reunited with WWII friend of 69 years, Irwin Loretz (Charlene). Carl was especially proud of his grand- children's accomplishments of graduating from college. Services: The funeral service will be conducted in the Chapel of Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
