Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Liz, whose love and companionship were the heart of his life. He was a proud father to two beautiful daughters, Neely (Sean Almstead) Goss and Casey (Bill) Miller, and a cherished grandfather to his four grandsons—Caden (Phenecia), Connor, Trevor, and Bryce—who brought him immense joy and pride. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara and Joseph, and his sister, Delores.
A proud United States Marine, Joe served his country with honor during the Vietnam War. His sense of duty and commitment carried over into his career, where he was a dedicated employee for over 28 years before retiring from PNC Bank.
Joe had a deep love for sports, spending countless hours cheering on his favorite teams, with the most joy coming from those his grandsons participated. Whether watching a game, sharing stories, or enjoying time with his family, Joe’s presence was always filled with warmth, humor, and love.
He leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family. His memory will be forever treasured by those who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at the Jacksonville National Cemetery. A second celebration of life to be held in Ohio at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice or k9 for warriors.
Rest easy, Pap. Semper Fi.
