My husband, friend, love, fellow adventurer, sunset chaser, beachpal, thriftstore/antique buddy, coffee stop, prayer partner, encourager, laundryman ;) musicman, stalwart, faithful, provider, your silly jokes, your passion, your hand in mine and your laugh. Your servant heart and patriotism. Your grace with me and others. Your stories. The many times you stopped and took a homeless man into a nearby cafe, McDonald's, 7-Eleven, whatever was close, buy them a meal, sit with them, listen and then pray. You shook the hand & said thank you to every veteran, military man, woman in uniform, police and firefighter who came in your path, you even chased down a couple of them to say thank you. I would be praying, Father God, bless the prayer that comes from my husband to that person, also protect him :)
I even miss your, "almost smoothed edges" ;) "Prince in Training":)
I love you David Wills, I'm so thankful to God, in his infinite wisdom and humor ;), he brought two opposite people, who had life war wounds, broken hearts, seven children between us, and HE gave us a new life from the broken. Thank you for not giving up, the multiple times in four years, you asked me to be your wife. Thank you for encouraging me to experience life forgiven, in Christ and being the first one to hug me, when I came up out of the lake. Thank you, when life got really crazy, job losses, family crisis, health issues, seven children, seventeen grandchildren, many moves, businesses and special Jesus projects, all the life stuff going on all over the place at the same time. Broken hearts, tribulations and ALL of the blessings. IN ALL that. Thank you for always putting your hand in mine and declaring, even in the times we weren't our best, you would say: “Connie….God, you and me: WE got this, I love you!”
That was our core: Faith, Hope, Love and a bit of resolute, NO quit. I wish I could see the adventures you're having in heaven, I'm so happy for you. I know, when my call home comes, just like the river, I was baptized in, you were the first one there when I came up, you'll be the first person I see after the Father, Son & Holy Spirit.
Thank you Dave for a never boring thirty four years and a lifetime of good fruit with our seven children, seventeen grandchildren, friends, family, church, and the memories. So many Awesome memories.
Forever in my heart,
~ Connie ~
Dear Friends and Family,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our dear David Patrick Wills. David was more than just a man; he was a beacon of light in our lives, a man who lived with passion, kindness, and an unwavering love for his family, friends, and community.
David's adventurous spirit and zest for life were unparalleled. Whether he was leading us on exhilarating road trips or delighting in the great outdoors, he embraced every adventure with boundless enthusiasm. His love for fast cars and classic automobiles was only surpassed by his love for his beloved wife, Connie, whom he cherished for 34 years. David is also survived by his seven adult children and seventeen grandchildren.
As a Navy Veteran who served during the Vietnam War, David demonstrated his commitment to his country and his fellow servicemen. His faith in Jesus guided his every action, and his generosity knew no bounds. He prayed fervently for peace in the world and for those suffering from hunger, homelessness, and loss.
In the wake of David's passing, we are faced with the daunting task of laying him to rest and supporting his family during this difficult transition. We are reaching out to our cherished community for support in covering the funeral expenses and providing for Connie and their grandson Morgan in the coming months.
Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a meaningful difference in helping us give David the farewell he deserves and ensuring his family's well-being during this challenging time. Funds will be accessible to Connie as soon as they are donated, allowing for immediate support.
Together, let us honor David's legacy and continue his spirit of love, kindness, and compassion. We are immensely grateful for your generosity, love, and support during this time of grief.
With heartfelt gratitude,
- His children, Roseann, Joshua, Erin, Jennifer, Jessica, Joel, and Haley
