It is with a heavy heart and deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Cody Jay Czapla, aged 36, on October 02, 2023, in Jacksonville, Florida within the comfort of his beautiful home. He was a beloved husband of Dilara Czapla, the first-born son of Tina Czapla, a beloved older brother of Savannah and Casey Czapla, a treasured uncle of Landon Hall and Athena Czapla, and a genuinely great friend to all around him. Cody was born on April 20th, 1987, to Tina Czapla at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, New York. In 2009, Cody met Dilara Spoth at Erie Community College during an attempt to embarrass her in hopes that she would notice him. After years of building memories together in their hometown, they decided to embark on an adventure, moving to Jacksonville, Florida. Cody supported Dilara as she ambitiously worked towards her life goals. They married on November 08, 2015, in a private intimate ceremony. On his 30th birthday, his wife, Dilara surprised him with a loyal four-legged friend to add to their little family. Cody was dedicated to Blue, as shown in his unwavering love for their loyal companion, who defined an enormous part of his life in the most heartwarming way. His commitment to training Blue was a testament to his devotion to the small family they were building together. Cody and Blue created a bond that was truly exceptional, sharing moments and adventures throughout the last 6 years of his life. Blue's presence brought immeasurable joy to Cody's life and provided him with a sense of purpose. Cody's memory will live on through the enduring love that he shared with his “Baby Blue.” Cody was known by most for his diverse sense of humor and unique personality. He was never afraid to try new things and encouraged others to step out of their comfort zones, always striving to inspire personal growth through meaningful conversations and shared experiences. He loved exploring the world and immersing himself in diverse cultures and lifestyles. Cody had an innate talent for languages, evident in his swift acquisition of Spanish upon moving to Florida and his dedication to learning Turkish during his overseas travels with his beloved wife last summer. He found happiness in life's simplest pleasures, fishing, gardening with his wife, being a dog dad, rooting for the Bills, dancing, particularly bachata, cruising on his Harley through the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains, and mastering the art of crafting delectable lemon drops and buffalo chicken wings, without breaking the butter. He possessed an extraordinary ability to forge instant connections with people, making new friends effortlessly, regardless of his location or company. He never turned down a chance to put a smile on someone’s face, no matter the cost. He was committed to the essence of true friendship. He was always ready to lend a
listening ear, a shoulder to lean on, and a helping hand to anyone who needed
him. What set Cody apart was his unwavering honesty, even when the truth was
difficult to hear. His dedication to being a loyal, supportive, and honest friend will
be remembered with deep gratitude and affection.
He cherished his loved ones dearly and always wholeheartedly attempted to
put family first. He had a unique way of articulating the essence of family,
speaking about it with a deep and resonating beauty. His unwavering
commitment and love for his family was an inspiration, reminding us of the
profound importance of cherishing those we hold close with the time that we
have left.
Cody had so much goodness within him and so much capacity to bring
happiness to others around him. The world is a lesser place without his presence.
He will be missed dearly by his family and close circle of friends.
Services will be held at Hardage Gidden’s Funeral Home, 1285 St. Johns Parkway
