Arlene Elizabeth Hendrickson (Barone) was born June 27, 1949 and entered heaven on April 10, 2023. Arlene was born and raised in Queens, NY to parents Saverio & Elizabeth Barone, the 4th of 5 children. Her schooling in Queens included PS 156, JHS 59 and Andrew Jackson High School.
After marriage Arlene moved to Hobe Sound, Florida where she worked as a banker and loan officer and attended church. She volunteered for her daughter Deanna’s 4H Club, was the softball coach for her team, and attended her son William’s football games. When her children were older, she went back to school, proudly earned her nursing degree and returned to the work force until retirement. Arlene was a lifelong reader, and went to the St. John’s library weekly, often donating to their food shelter and participating in the monthly ‘Books & Bites’ educational series. Arlene was always a nature lover. She became a Master Gardener and was a member of the Switzerland Garden Club. For many years she led and developed the Junior Gardner’s Program at Julington Creek Elementary-long after her grandkids had graduated. Arlene diligently cared for all her many plants. She fed the birds and relished the fact that her native plants gave way to beautiful butterflies every year. It was her pride & joy.
Arlene was predeceased by her parents and two sisters, Joan and Dorothy. Surviving are her sister Linda of NJ and brother Bill (Cathi) of SC, her Daughter Deanna Janz (Christopher) of FL, Son William Hendrickson of WA, 5 Grandchildren Hayden, Hannah, Erin, Hunter, Devin, and 5 Fur-Grandbabies.
