Paul M. Lam, 93, of St. John, MO, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, William Lewis Lam and Ella (née Robison) Lam; spouse and mother of his children, Arline E. (née Enk) Lam and spouse, Marcella F. (née Novack) Lam; granddaughter, baby Lindsey Asher; and siblings, Coy Lam, Vera Chilton, and Angie (survived by Seldon) Blackburn. He is survived by his children, William “Bill” (Linda) Lam, Marlene (Bruce) Asher, Janice “Jan” Choate, James “Jim” (Jami) Lam, Donna (Larry) Kibler, and Karen (Mike) Gray; grandchildren, Traci (Greg) McCune, Brian Lam, Jennifer (Matt) Bowers, Julie (Michael) Christian, Jamie (Brad) King, Franklin (Christine) Choate, Kara Choate, Tim (Jessica) Kibler, Ryan (Jessica) Gray, Steven Gray, Rachel Gray, Rebecca (Andrew) Smith, Paul McKinney, and Josh (Ashley) McKinney; great grandchildren, Haleigh, Allison, and Cole McCune, Blake Lam, Alexander and Nicholas Bowers, Logan, Bryson and Ana Christian, Taylor and Landon King, Jacob, Evan and Hayley Choate, Colton and Ford Kibler, Aralyn, James, Ruth, Anna, John, Clementine McKinney, Aubrey and Joseph McKinney.
Paul was a proud WWII veteran, serving in the US Army in General George Patton’s 3rd Army in the 65th Infantry Division where he was a well-decorated expert infantryman. He was a dedicated servant of the Lord and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of St. John. Prior to his military service, he was honored to be a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps for which he was awarded many years later for his service. He was a proud member of VFW Post 3944 and American Legion Post 0143.
Paul was dedicated to serving his family and the Lord. He was a kind man who would help anyone. He had an amazing sense of humor and filled many hearts with love and laughter. Paul will most certainly be missed.
Friends may visit on Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home in St. Ann, MO. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 28 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of St. John, 8665 St. Charles Rock Rd, St. John, MO. Interment with full honors will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to Billy Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse and First Baptist Church of St. John.
