Linda Sue Garris

Loving mother of Freddie D. Garris Jr (wife: Sarah), Sharon L.M. Wermke (husband: Brian), Tammy J. Garris, Donald W. Garris, James D. Garris (wife: Vanessa), and Katherine L. Osborne (husband: Zach); grandmother of Emme Dickerson, Corey Garris, Haleigh Faerber, Kylie Garris, Jordan Garris, Shelbi Garris, Ashton Garris, Jesse Garris, Morgan Garris, Catelyn Garris, Keagan Wermke, Kelley Wermke, Briana Wermke, and Freddie Garris III; great grandmother of Jaydin Murphy, Clayton Harding, and 2 on the way; and sister of Bill Schuler (wife: Pat), Bob Schuler, Gloria Harp, Larry Schuler, Butch Schuler, Pat Thomas (husband: Bill), Mike Schuler, and Tommy Schuler. Linda is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Lillian (Elliff) Schuler; her husband of over 33 years, Freddie D. Garris Sr.; a son, John Thomas Garris; a grandson, Brian Wermke; and siblings, Eddie Schuler and Jimmy Schuler.

Linda took pride in maintaining her home and caring for her family. She cared for everyone, especially her husband and her children, and was known as “Mom” to all of the neighborhood kids. She supported her husband in his music career and was right by his side running the sound and lights for his band. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed listening to music, solving puzzles, playing cards, fishing and being outdoors. She was also an outstanding artist who painted ceramics and was known for her life-like eagles. Linda was a spirited and even ornery woman with a wonderful sense of humor who cherished every moment spent with her family, most especially her grandkids. She will truly be missed by all of her family and friends.

Memorial donations may be made in Linda’s name to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
