Joan Marie Farrell

Joan Marie Farrell (nee Zimmer), 84, of Florissant, MO passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 20, 2018 surrounded by her loving family just shy of her 85th birthday. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Kathleen Zimmer; son, Michael Farrell; and grandson, Michael Farrell, Jr. Joan is survived by her children, Daniel (Tessie) Farrell, Dennis (Diane Wisdom) Farrell, and Kathleen (Rich) Myers; grandchildren, Patrick Farrell, Christy Farrell, Kelly (Jared) Lambert, Dennis, Jr. (Heather) Farrell, Angie Myers, Julie Myers (Bob Swip), Mimi Farrell, and Mari Farrell; great grandchildren, Grace, Kyle, Justin, Codi, Alexis, Isaiah, Devin, Victor, Isabella, Liam, Noah, and Dayton; siblings, Margaret “Peggy” Demoss, Paul Zimmer, Gene Zimmer, Margaret Haycraft, and Delores Malloy. Dearest aunt, cousin, sister-in-law, and friend of many.

Joan was a faithful servant of the Lord and was a member of St. Kevin (now Holy Trinity) Catholic Church. She saw the good in everyone and was always more than willing to help anyone with anything. Joan was fun and free and wasn’t afraid to do cartwheels in the yard for her grandchildren. She was a great cook and made an amazing cheesecake. She enjoyed taking “her ladies” to mass on Sundays and when she wasn’t available to do it, she would make sure her daughter or granddaughter took her place behind the wheel. In her final years with dementia and Alzheimer’s, her light was a bit dimmed but we now know in Heaven her candle burns bright once again. She will be missed but her warm heart and kind spirit will always be remembered.

Friends may visit on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from noon until time of service at 2 p.m. at Alexander White Mullen Funeral Home in St. Ann. Interment will follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
