Jack Heuermann once drove 50 miles back to a service station because the cashier there gave him a dollar too much change. He baffled a store clerk one day when he returned to the store to pay for an item that the checker missed but ended up in his shopping bag. Honesty, generousity and integrity were not just empty words to him. That is how he lived his life, his family said.
He was the Beloved wife of Barbara Heuermann, (née Gilmour). The couple met on a blind date. At age 15 Barbara caused a stir at home when she told her mother she intended to marry Jack. “I knew he was mine at 15,” she said. They were wed on September 3, 1955.
He is survived by children Connie (Ray) Kern, David Heuermann, and was preceded in death by a son Ross Heuermann. He was the loving grandfather of Jamie (Alan) Gomez, Jacquelyn Evers, Devinn Heuermann and Samantha Kern; beloved brother of Emily Stefanus, Gerri Corzine, Marylou Puleo and Florence Glenn
