

The beloved wife of the late William Louis Schlueter; loving and cherished mother of Albert William Schlueter, Marilyn Marie Anderson, Joyce Ann Freeman; devoted grandmother of Stephen Clevenger, David Clevenger, Kathleen Myers, Julie Tuttle, Michelle Sheldon, Thomas Freeman Timothy Freeman, Eric Schlueter and Tracy Schlueter, and great grandmother of Benjamin, Megan, and Sarah Clevenger, Lena and John Tuttle, Marcus and Maya Schlueter, Madison and Rebecca Shelton; dear sister of Grace Leonhard.
Dorothy completed two years of study at Blackburn College (IL) and received a teaching certificate. She taught four years at two different one room school houses near Staunton, IL. She then accepted a position in the Staunton Public Schools where she taught second grade for several years. She married and became a homemaker, dedicating herself to her family, community and church.
For seventy (70) years Dorothy was an active member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Ferguson, MO. She taught Sunday school for many years and had leadership roles as director of the younger classes of Sunday school, in the Women's Fellowship and in the church Quilting Circle. She enjoyed oil painting, gardening, sewing and, in her later years quilting.
The family will receive family and friends on Saturday September 14, 2013 from 9:00 AM until time of funeral services at 10:00 AM at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Ferguson, MO. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
In keeping with her lifelong involvement with her church, memorial donations to Immanuel United Church of Christ would be most appropriate.
