Betty Marie Dodd

Betty Marie (nee Mickey) Dodd, 94, of St. Charles, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 25, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Myrtle (nee Kick) Mickey; stepmother, Henrietta Mickey; her husband of 66 years, Leeman; daughter, Janice Lee Dodd; and brother, Donald (Doris) Mickey. Betty is survived by her daughters, Judy (Bob) Fagan of St. Charles and Peggy (Lee) Gibson of Lake St. Louis; grandchildren, Ryan (Tate Glankler) Fagan, Julie Fagan, Seth (Katie) Fagan, Luke Fagan, Jeremy (Megan) Gibson, Carla Gibson, Jana (Aaron) Flora, and Stacie Gibson; great grandchildren, Colin and Hannah Gibson, Olivia and Myles Flora, and Ezra Ewald; brother, Ellis (Theora) Mickey; and sister-in-law, Berniece Dodd.

Betty was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Most recently she was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and a former member of Parkway Baptist and Christ Memorial Baptist. She was active in church work serving as a church pianist and choir member and also participated in a church prayer group that met regularly for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed flower gardening, traveling and helping others. Betty was a kind and compassionate woman who took interest in the needs of others. She was passionate about her faith, her family and friends and her career in nursing. She will be missed by everyone who had the joy of knowing her.

Friends may visit on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at Alexander White Mullen Funeral Home in St. Ann. Funeral service is on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
