

She was born March 13, 1935 in St. Albans and was a daughter of Randall and Alma Coakley Spears. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Gene Harding and her sister, Gretta Spears Miller.
Loretta was loved and will be missed by her sons, Thomas Wayne Harding, with whom she resided, and Joseph Dean Harding and his wife, Lonella of Nitro; grandchildren, Bianca Sheets and her husband, Michael of Alderson and Ralona Skanes and her husband, Jason of Nitro; great-grandchildren, Jaron, Kenan and Luke; and niece Marsha Lynn Hegeman and her husband, Dan of Rutherfordton, NC. She will also be missed by friends and a host of others touched by her life.
Loretta was a devout Christian, attending numerous churches throughout her life and singing in a gospel quartet in her youth. She was a volunteer and served as a Den Mother in the Cub Scouts. She worked with others to collect Christmas toys for needy children. Loretta setup and ran a library at what was Hansford Elementary School.
There will be a celebration of Loretta’s life at noon on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, 110 B Street, St. Albans with her son, Joseph Harding officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
