Lana was born on October 17, 1950 in Martinez, CA, and went to her rest on January 4, 2018, in Sacramento, CA, following a valiant struggle with pancreatic cancer. She leaves to deeply mourn her passing her loving husband of 45 years, Bacilio Garcia, and their devoted son, Anthony B. Garcia. She is also survived by her loving sister, Rosie Vandiver of Lancaster, CA, and numerous sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins, and her beloved canine pets, Cesar and Teddy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Jaime Bado of Pittsburg, CA. Lana was a graduate of Pittsburg Senior High, Class of 1968, and of Athena Beauty College, Walnut Creek, CA. Lana retired from the CA Department of Justice's Firearms Division as a Criminal Intelligence Specialist. She was previously employed by W.T. Grant Co., Antioch, CA; the U.S. Naval Weapons Station in Concord, CA; Pan Am World Services at the Sacramento Army Depot; in retail with various department and specialty stores in the region; and as a licensed cosmetologist. A resident of Sacramento since 1979, she and her family previously lived in Monterey and Salinas, CA. She was an ardent supporter of the SF 49ers, the SF Giants, the Oakland A's, the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings, and was thrilled to attend live sporting events ofteams, especially "on the road". At all times a gracious, beautiful woman, Lana adored angels, animals and children, but her greatest joy was her family and friends. Her sudden passing has shocked her family and friends and she will be sorely missed. She well and truly personified the phrase, "Beautiful, inside and out." May she rest in peace with the angels she so dearly loved. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Harry A. Nauman & Sons Funeral Home, 4041 Freeport Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95822. Inurnment will be at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA, at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, Lana requested donations to the Sacramento Front Street Animal Shelter, the SPCA or donor's choice of a charitable organization that benefits needy animals.
