52 mondays have gone by
since you've passed away
that's one year of missing you
each and every day

the time we spent together 
on those monday nights
sometimes included scrabble 
under the dining room lights

at twilight time we'd sit on the porch 
watching the world go by
you enjoyed that time of night
and now i know why

it's was fading sunset
and another day in the life
of this magnificent woman
our mom, g'ma and pops wife

9pm each monday night
time for coffee and toast
a mom's love is unconditional 
and that's what i miss the most

you were there for it all 
my highs and my lows
i feel you're still with me today
as your smiling candle glows

i miss you so much mom
and you can multiply that by ten
each on of your kids
has their own "remember when"

Reading all the messages sent to you in heaven Mom, sends me a very strong message, We all should live life like you. Simple, just be loving, caring, non judgmental, knowledge of life and love music and dancing AND PRAY.  You were all that and more.  MOM, it's been almost a year and it really doesn't seem it at all.  I go to the house and sometimes I feel you're in your room calling out ROCK, CHUCK, JAY, PHIL, BILL, any one out there, Yep until one of us girls walks in and you always say can I have some graham crackers please. Mom you were our heartbeat, we love you so much.. and it was obvious you loved your boyz a lot, but..  MOM we knew you loved us girlz, SUSIE, LORI and GLORIA with ALL your HEART, cuz we knew you did.... Love is what you do MOM and now that's what your GIRLZ do, we love and live by your ways, dance, love music and cook for our family and we were taught to make our home the best we can and to take care of one another, the way you did your family.... Yes MOM us girlz paid attention and we LOVE and MISS you so much,.  LOVE and PEACE and kiss my POP for me YOUR SUSANA :) <3

Mama, it's coming up on a year Our Heavenly Father took you and carried you to your room in his mansion.  I reflect back on many fond, precious and loving memories I hold dearly of you.  Especially on you never giving up on me.  Your prayers for all of us children came through and we all miss and long to hold, kiss, and hear you voice.  Brother Davey had you for his 73rd birthday, and we know he was happy.  I hope that who ever edits this will let this run through, because this will be the last time I will get to write on this journal. There have been other family members who have left us, and have joined you in the Mansion above.  We are having a mass in your honor tomorrow, then all will follow to your house for eats and drinks, music, and most important family coming together.  

We love and miss you ever so much Mama.

Mama, it's getting closer to Christmas, and we all are going through it, with you not being here, this is our first of many more Christmas's to come.  But our Pop, Brother's and Sister Alicia are having their first Christmas with you and Pop, that they missed with out you.  

Mom my gift to you and Pop is to continue to be a responsible daughter, that you both taught us to be.  Life is much simpler when I do just what's in front of me, and mind my own business.  I learned that through AA.  My gift to self is don't pick up no matter what, even though I wanted to after you passed.  Like I mentioned earlier, you taught us to be responsible for our actions.  I miss you so much, just the color of the trees make me cry, because I know you aren't cold in you room anymore.

Mom, missing you everyday. Just to hear you voice, singing, and calling out for "anyone here" .  All the little things come back to mind when I look back on all the photos I took on our days together.  Phil's birthday has come and gone, and Autumn is right around the corner.  But I glad you will not have to suffer anymore with the cold days.

Hello Mother..  It's now been 2 months on this date that God took you home, and you are missed very much by all of us.  I'm staying busy with my meetings, and friends in my fellowship.  It's all ok mom, I'm sure you know.  Give Pop, Mike, Dave and Alicia a kiss for me.  I'm sure their happy.  I have days where I feel so lost, I want to call you on the phone like I used to do, just to hear you say that everything is going to be alright, just trust in God.   Some may think this is odd writing to you this way, but like you say, if it comes from the heart who cares what anybody thinks.    Well mom, I will close now.

Good morning mama. Thinking of you, missing you so much.  I just want to reach out and hug you so bad, kiss you, comb you hair, make you coffee and toast, and do all the fun stuff we used to do.  Spoke with Billy, Phil and Rocky, this past week, all are doing fine. Love this picture of you, it makes me smile to start my day.  Blackie (cujo) hasn't been back you the house since you've been gone, but he knows.  He still gets very excited when I mention Grandma.

Hi Mom, Well it's another Saturday afternoon without your physical presence. But I know your spirit is with all of us.  I'm making Tamales today and you have been with me through the whole process. One month ago this date God needed our Mama. Her work here was completed. Our mama is resting peacefully, no more pain, coughing and, restless nights for you mama. I can still hear you singing your songs, and see you putting up you little fists to box with me.  We all had such fun and lots of laughs with you mama, and they will never be forgotten. All the memories of you puts a big smile on my face.

Aunt Virgie, You are finally at home resting with your loved ones. You've been patiently waiting for this day. I knew I would miss you but I didn't think it would hurt so bad. You've always been there for me. I always enjoyed our conversations, your advice & visa versa and exchanging recipes. You & my tio were so blessed, you raised a beautiful family,who loved you so much.
Each of them tended for you till the very end, even thru their sleepless nights & still go to work,but they never gave up. God Bless them all they cared for you just like you did for your mom Benita Sanchez, my nina. Love you Aunt Virgie going to really miss you,you will always, always be in my heart. I met Virginia in the mid-80's when I started dating, Michael, the oldest sibling of Ralph & Virginia's children. Mike & I married in 1989. As you know, when you marry someone, you don't just marry them, but you marry the entire family! Fortunate, Blessed, me!!
I wasn't sure how it would go with my new mother-in-law. I heard other women talk of their issues with 'mother-in-laws'. But, I should have known with Mike's kind ways, how could his mother not be kind, loving, welcoming and a WISE woman. A very wise woman.
When Michael succumbed to his illness, I felt Virginia and I get closer. Both of us faced with the dread of losing him. It is at this time I really became familiar with the bible book of Ruth & Naomi. Years after Mike passed, Virginia continued to check in on me, send me notes and be supportive. She was a lovely woman, who will be in my heart forever!!

To Billy and family, I offer my sincere condolence.  There was a beaten path between the Rios family home and ours that cut through the side yard of another neighbors.  There were no boundaries.  Billy (William) and I were school mates and good friends from grammar school through young adults.  I always felt welcome in the Rios household and beared witness to the unconditional love Mrs. Rios provided her children.  I hold dear those memories of long ago.

Dear Aunt Virgie, What a woman you were!  A real example of what a woman should be, kind, gentle, loving and fun.  Thank you for all the great memories and for teaching me how to fry an egg the "right way" for my Dad.  I will always remember all the grand times at your house.  All the people, the music, dancing, great food and fun we had.  You were always happy with your wonderful smile shinning.  May you Rest In Sweet Peace with Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Forever and Ever.

To Phil and family, losing a Mother is the hardest (at least it was for me) and my prayers and best wishes go out to all of you!  God bless!

I have know your family for more than 20 years now. Your home was always open to all. The love you had for your family will continue to be shared for many years to come. You leave behind some wonderful memories and stories for all to share. I am happy to have had the opportunity to see how strong a person can be and how much love one person can share.

Mom, among many the cherished memories I will always remember is how you lived by the fruits of the spirit. You lived by love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
