Born Veronica Catherine Clancy, Mar 31, 1923 in Melbourne, Australia to a loving family drawn closer by the hardships of the depression and WWII. Fell in love with a handsome American soldier and the stories he told of his beautiful Oregon homeland. She married Vernon Jan 1, 1944 and followed him to the US after his discharge. They helped manage the family’s fishing resort near Bend. Finally settling in Sacramento in 1955 where “Ronnie” volunteered at All Hallows and spent many years as the librarian. She and Vernon were avid square dancers, rock hounds and volunteered with the Senior Gleaners. Preceded in death by her parents and Vernon, she passed away on Feb 6th in her home. She is survived by her brother Arthur Clancy of Melbourne, Australia, her children Ellen Silvey (Mike), Clair Robideaux (Gayle), Bill Robideaux, Lynn Leduc (Tony), and Laura Gay (Jeff), 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, her sister-in-law Louise McDowell, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins in the US and Australia.
