Stephen Edward Daly was welcomed to Heaven by Jesus on August 10, 2023, after a long and difficult illness. He is now reunited with his parents John and Vivian Daly and other loved ones. Stephen was 72 years old. A Sacramento native, he retired as a Custodial Supervisor with the County of Sacramento after 23 years of employment.
After retiring, Stephen enjoyed his volunteer position at Kaiser Permanente for 14 years, completing 2,659 hours assisting others at the Hospital Information Desk. He also volunteered as a Voting Precinct Leader. A lifelong Methodist, Stephen was active in the United Methodist Church, serving on church committees and attending Annual District Conferences. Stephen was an avid NASCAR fan and shared the sport with his brother, son and grandsons.
He had a passion for music and sang in church choirs, River City Chorale and Hart Senior Center Singers. Stephen wanted to share his legacy with others, so he wrote poetry and stories about his life experiences. He found serenity by the ocean and made many trips to Monterey, CA with his wife, Sue. Soulmates since 1981, Stephen and Sue renewed their marriage vows last year on their 40th Anniversary.
Stephen will be deeply missed by his wife of 41 years, Sue Daly, son Joshua Daly Souza and daughter Joy (Rev. Mark) Kwong. He will be remembered by his grandchildren Tryston (Natalie), Joseph, Wesley and Annabelle Kwong; his sister Evelyn Everk, and brother John (Bonny) Daly. One of the many qualities he will be remembered for is the unselfish and unyielding love he offered to others, strangers and friends alike. Stephen will always be loved, forever missed and never forgotten.
