Sandra was born in Modesto, California, to Cleo and Gladys Lipe. She attended Downey High School where she met her husband of 62 years, Ronald. She spent the majority of her life in Lodi and Modesto before moving to Bolivar Missouri for 10 years returning to the Sacramento area in 2017 to be closer to her children. Sandra started her career as a foster parent fostering approximately 2 dozen infants before working for 25 years as an Administrative Assistant at the University of the Pacific overseeing Institutional Research and the Registrar Office. Her favorite part of the job was helping students which is why she worked part time in retirement at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar.
Sandra was a faithful church member where she created many long lasting friendships. She loved to do puzzles and was known to always have a sudoku book with her or a jigsaw puzzle on a table. She loved to play cards with family and friends where she was very competitive and known as the "best card partner ever". And, she loved to watch sports.
Sandra was predeceased by Ronald (May 2019) and survived by her children Kimberlee Smith, Brian Rux, Pamela Rux, and Deelayna Manski; daughter-in-law Melissa and son-in-law Michael; grandchildren Brandilynn, Britnee, Breanna, and Chase; great grandchildren Jacob, Haley, Gracie, Lola, Harvey, and Leo. She was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her and she will be missed. Now that she is at peace, it is comforting to know she has been reunited with the love of her life, Ronald.
A special thank you to all of the caregivers in the memory care section of the Chateau at River's Edge who so kindly and compassionately cared for her. She was very thankful and always made sure to tell them she loved them. Per Sandra's wish, a memorial service will not be held.
