Sam Edward Jarman died peacefully at home in West Sacramento, CA on August 21, 2018 due to heart failure. He was 71 years old. Sam was born in Los Angeles, CA on February 25, 1947 to Henry and Helen Jarman (deceased).
Sam was a Vietnam War Era Veteran of the United States Air Force (1965- 1969).
He was most proud of his nine years of volunteer work at the Sutter Memorial Hospital in the Children’s Bereavement Art Group.
Sam was generous and hilariously funny. He made family, friends and colleagues laugh throughout his life. He loved a good cigar and a great bourbon. Highly intelligent and a voracious reader. Sam was a lively and animated conversationalist and marveled at the hallmarks of human achievement- great music, art, engineering and architecture. He was a tech enthusiast, spending most of his career in software design and development which he truly enjoyed.
Sam is survived by his son and daughter in-law, Jonathan and Amanda Jarman of Ann Arbor, Michigan, his daughter and son-in-law, Maureen and Justin Horn of Citrus Heights, CA, three grandchildren; Marla and Naomi Jarman and Elise Horn, his sister and brother-in-law, Lily and Michael Reisch, and his dear friend Patsy Torvend.
An open house memorial service is planned for Sam on October 13, 2018 to remember Sam as a loving Grandpa, Father, Brother and Friend. Memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice
