Born October 6, 1924 in Dunsmuir, CA, entered into rest May 1, 2010 in Sacramento, CA. Son of James Benjamin and Callie Marie Lamm. Beloved husband of 54 years to Maxine E. Lamm. Survived by sons James Lamm of Keno, OR, Richard T. Lamm, Jr. and wife Candace of Santa Rosa, daughter Annabelle Lamm of Sacramento, nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and two special great-nieces, Patti Phelan of Roseville, and Sandy Auernig and husband Arny of Citrus Heights. He was preceded in death by son Edward Lamm.
Graduated from Dunsmuir High School and moved to Sacramento to attend Sacramento City College in 1942. Joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in March 1943 and was assigned to the B-29 Bomber Group in the 20th Air Force and stationed in Guam, Saipan and Tinian. He was discharged February 22, 1946 and returned to Sacramento City College. He was employed at McClellan AFB and worked in Plant Services Engineering Dept. until his retirement in July 1983.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars of Dunsmuir, CA, Post 3817, and SIRS (Sons in Retirement) Branch 156. He loved bowling and was a member of a number of leagues. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (R.L.D.S.).
Friends are welcome to attend the Memorial Service on Monday, May 10, 2010, 11:00 A.M., at Harry A. Nauman & Son Land Park Chapel, 4041 Freeport Blvd., Sacramento, CA. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the charity of your choice.
