Our father, Phil D. Seay, Sr. passed away in Stockton, California surrounded by his children on September 4th at the age of 91. He will be greatly missed and always have a place in our hearts. Phil was born January 5th, 1932 in Sacramento, California, the son of Marie and Jerrell Seay.
Phil was predeceased by his daughter Cindy Seay, who passed away in 1980. Phil is survived by his children, Philip Seay, Jr. (Reneé) (San Jose, CA), Darilyn Seay (Folsom, CA) Marcella Seay (Magalia, CA) Lisa Thompson (Fresno, CA) and Bill Seay (Sharon) (Fresno, CA). Phil was blessed with 12 grandchildren: Heather Morgan, Amanda Cliby, Seth Brown, Derek Brown, Jessica Brown, Raymond Dreyer, Austin Dreyer, Zechy Buzgheia, Jamie Thompson, Sara Della, Steven Thompson and Scott Thompson. 13 great-grandchildren: Collin Morgan, Adison Morgan, Isabella Morgan, Nik Armstrong, Sommer Brown, Reid Herzig, Kelsie Dreyer, Clayton Dreyer, Logan Dreyer, Nathan Thompson, Kayla Thompson, Aevalyn Della and Alanna Della.
Phil started his 70+ year career in the sheet metal shop at the railroad. He then worked as a cost estimator at Aerojet. After a short career selling life insurance in Fresno he moved back to Sacramento where, with his mother and brothers, ran a successful residential and commercial real estate business for more than 40 years.
Phil had an immense passion and talent for golf. He won many tournaments and enjoyed going on golf vacations with his friends all over the country. Phil had an incredible memory. He loved spending time with friends and family sharing stories about his many experiences in life on an off the golf course.
To honor Phil’s memory, we are holding a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Harry A. Nauman & Son Funeral Home & Chapel, 4041 Freeport Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95822. The burial service will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park, 43rd Street & Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95819. Our family invites anyone who knew Phil to attend and remember his wonderful life.
