Tonita is survived by her children, Ruben O. Henriquez Moreno, of Valencia, Spain, Daysi Perez and Mercedes Vidal, of St. Augustine, Florida, William Henriquez, of Davis, Lia Judith St. Charles, of Sacramento, Rosie Robles, of Elk Grove; Grand-children, Ruben V., Xavier and Camila Henriquez Merigio, of Spain, Manuel Zamuz. Jr., of St. Augustine, Jennifer Leath-Morales, of Kenilworth, New Jersey, Marissa Henriquez Fuller, of Davis, Stephanie Maerdian, of Rancho Cordova, James St. Charles, of Sacramento, Gabriel Robles and Daniel Robles, of Elk Grove; brother Juan Velasquez and sister Hilda Velasquez, of El Salvador. She is preceded in death by Ruben Henriquez Lopez, Dorotea, Santos, Alicia, Mercedes and Manuel Velasquez, of El Salvador.
Tonita was born on November 5, 2022 in Bolivar, La Union, El Salvador to Dorotea Velasquez and Nicomedes Torres. She met Ruben Henriquez Lopez,in 1955 in Ilopango, San Salvdor, El Salvador. Over thirty years, the couple raised six children in their home. Tonita set about teaching them life skills and good Christian morals and values. Her children remember her as a kind, gentle, patient and driven mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Tonita was accomplished at gardening, cooking, arts and crafts and often shared these talents. She was a generous,witty and dedicated individual who loved assisting friends and relatives and who was passionate about family and church gatherings. She was an active and dedicated member of the Sacramento Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and often volunteered at this location.
A funeral is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with a reception to follow at Nicolett, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home. Father Juan Francisco Bracamontes will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Tonita's life.
