Mary Magdalena Camarillo entered life on November 17th, 1925 in Canutillo, Texas. Mary was a proud Texan, born and raised, which is where she met her loving husband, Louis. Louis and Mary went on to share many loving years together and in 1950, moved to Sacramento, CA with their 3 children Edna, James, and Carol. Mary was a dedicated homemaker who was a wonderful cook. She loved to cook both Mexican and American dishes. Mary was an avid gardener, who could make anything grow. She loved gardening and took pride in her famous peach and avocado tree, plus other assortments. She loved to sew and decorate her home to make sure it was comfortable to all. Mary took pride in her work and retired from JcPenny’s after 30 years of service. She was an avid traveler of the world and loved to tell stories of her travels with her husband Louis whom she loved dearly.
Mary never knew a strange face and was loved by all. She had a huge heart and often dedicated her time to volunteering at her church, St. Philomene. She was an avid supporter of the military and supported the building of the Korean War Memorial. She passed away peacefully at home on April 14, 2018. She now joins her husband Louis, and leaves behind her loving children Sonja, James, and Carol; grandchildren, Sonja and husband Josh, James and wife Courtney, and Erika; four great grandchildren, Damian, Natalie, Jordyn, and Austin. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Fri, April 27 from 4-6pm, with a Rosary at 6pm, at Lombard Funeral Home, 1550 Fulton Ave, Sacramento. A Mass with be held Sat, April 28 at 11:30am at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 7101 Verner Avenue, Citrus Heights, followed by a reception at Foothill Community Center, 5510 Diablo Drive, Sacramento, CA. Arrangements under the care of Lombard Funeral Home.
