Age 85, of Sacramento, passed away at home Wednesday, 4/2/14, surrounded by her family. She was born 7/24/1928, worked 18 years for Pacific Bell, and retired early to care for her family. Her beloved husband, Marvin, parents, George and Anna Vandervoort, and her siblings Minnie Osborn and Frank Vaccaro, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Janet Kauffman (Dennis) and Judy MacDonald; grandchildren, Dennis, Jr., Gina, Kimberly, Jonathan, Mary, Melanie, and Jay; and great-grandsons, Bailey and Henry. Also survived by her sisters Virginia Griffin and Jean Zanotti, and numerous nieces and nephews. Josephine selflessly cared for others all her life and put her family first. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life to the fullest, despite her long battle with Parkinson’s disease. She is loved so very much and will always hold a very special place in our hearts. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation Monday, April 7, 2014, from 6-8pm at Nicoletti Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd., and services Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 12pm at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
