My Dad was Willie Lopez he grew up with Joseph Lopez  he used to hang out with my dad and watch my dad play baseball from my grandfather Raymond Lopez in the Mexican American League I remember bogey when I was a little boy he used to deliver our mail to us and my dad introduced me to him and he's been like family ever since I'm sorry to hear that he's passed the last time I seen him was it Dan Jimenez memorial service rest easy bogey I know you and my dad are having a good time with all my other uncles Joe Blea Henry Lopez Eddie Lopez and Richard Lopez  and Pancho  Lopez 

So many memories of my Pops who raised me from the age of 6 years old. He always worked so hard to provide for us all, sometimes working 2 jobs. He always had our best interest and safety at heart and very much stressed the importance of education. I think he had an extra set of eyes and ears watching and hearing everything we did or said, because no matter how sneaky or slick i thought i was, when i did wrong he always found out! He had that "dad radar" I may not share the same DNA as him, but to me he will always be DAD. One thing i know i did inherit from him is a loving and forgiving heart. Rest in peace Pops, you will be missed dearly

My brothers and sisters are all correct, your influence was undeniable.  Although your methods were sometimes demanding, they helped shape us as adults.  I'm proud of what all of my brothers and sisters have become, hardworking, honest, and dedicated people, many whom have successfully raised families of their own, and no doubt with your guidance to help them along the way.

I was recently presented with a legal option of changing my last name from Lopez to Mercado.  I respectfully declined and decided to proudly keep the name Lopez.  My vow to you is to always make this choice worthy of your memory.

I bid you farewell, and may God grant you the peace you seek and deserve.

I have a little story, some happy, sad, then happy again... 
when I was a young boy, before the age of 10 or so. My memories were great, Dad was stern, but loving he was very protective of all his kids. We couldn't say bad words, couldn't fight each other, 9 kids in household, wasn't easy LOL. He never let us go around water, like the levee, the river, etc. Watched him play ball almost every weekend, we were in bowling leagues, went to the St Joseph Church. Mom made family dinners nightly. Great memories. Then all of the sudden, Dad left, I will not go into how and why. But he was gone. No dad, for a long time. I blamed myself. What did I do wrong? I was angry for a long time. He would pick us up on Friday nights to go bowling w/him. That didn't always go well. Too many feelings. Years passed, I went to work, I worked a lot. I met up with him while I was working at Mike's Northgate Market. His friends would come in the store, bowling friends, past office friends, etc. With no dad, I ran the streets, no stoppin me, can't remember how, but he invited me to play golf with him and Gil Gonzalez. He came to pick me up at our house in Northgate. He knocked on the door, I told my wife, I don't want to go with him. So I hid behind the door. He banged, not knocked, it must of been 15-30 minutes he would not leave, just stayed and banged, my wife talked me into going. When i saw him, he just said, like good ole dad . "Let's go, we're running late now". I had the best time ever. That was the day I met my best friend -Bogie- we played every weekend almost. We both joined MAGA- Mexican American Golf Association that's when I realized he was an amazing man, not just a dad. As I write this, the tears are falling down my face. Whether he like it or not, that day he became my best friend. For life. It was almost like he wanted to make up for lost time. There were so many great memories on the golf course. Dad I love you, I will talk to you everyday. To be continued...

My deepest sorrow, thoughts and prayers for the Lopez family.  He was such a good brother to my dad Robert Lopez and I know he will be truly missed. RIP Uncle Frank.

My Memory of My Grandpa Joe would be him taking My brother and I to our cousin Corina  quinceanera practices and our cousin Vanessa's quinceanera practices that My brother Tyler and I were both in. He always gave me warm hugs and gave me $5 to $10 every time he saw me. He always had a great smile on his face and always reminded me of My dad because My dad always wears glasses everywhere he goes just like my grandpa and always gave the same gave hugs. I don't think My dad realizes how much I noticed they were so much alike. I will always remember my grandpa Joe as a kind man that was very family-oriented very easy to get along with. I'M so grateful to My grandpa because if it wasn't for him I wouldn't have the amazing dad that I have today that has been so good to us from the very start. Even though people  may see My dad Mick as My stepdad he's never been that to me and I know I've never been a step daughter to him. He's My Dad AND I'M HIS Daughter this is My grandpa and I will forever Love him for giving me such a great Dad TRULY. Just want to thank God all the special people that he has allowed into my life Praise Jesus praise be to God thank you for this glorious life. Rest in peace Grandpa Joe

Ouch....😞 I don't even know where to start...I do know this...dad always bragged about familia...his children and grandchildren! He loved sports!!! Big time!! He even schooled me on the sweet science...aka Boxing! He always shared this story with me. He'd say that when you were a kid people would say to him....your son is so little for his age and his reply to them was dynamite comes in SMALL packages!!!☺️ Great Dad!! I remember coming over anytime you needed help with your electronics (phone, stereo, TV, etc.) and you telling me that I fixed them way to fast and easy. I also remember hanging out when I was done helping you out and you giving me advice that would help me in the future. You were always there for me when I had questions about something. You gave me a lot of gems that will benefit me in the future and I can never replace the times we spent together. I will miss you very much and I know you will continue to watch over me. I dont know if i can do him justice by just sharing one memory.  Number 1, My dad taught me the love of God.  Growing up in a house with 8 siblings was FUN.  His love of sports, taught me 
how beneficial exercise was and fun.  Even though there was entirely to many sports channels it seemed. 😎.   Christmas was so amazing so many presents under our tree.  We never went without.  My Dad worked two jobs to provide for all of us.  I was so blessed to have this amazing man raise and care for me.  Love you Daddy, Bogey, Frank, Pops.. Love, Kathleen

I remember growing up getting in trouble at school as a teen lol and always walking in the office seeing
you there to pick me up, I use to feel so embarrassed lol but now I'm so grateful for those little funny moments because it gave me time to spend with you. wish we could spend more moments together. so glad you got to spend time not to long ago with my son and dad. wish you could of met my newborn son, but I know your looking down on all of our family and watching over.

I’m truly sorry for your loss. Your dad was a good man. I can’t remember ever seeing him get mad and I spent a lot of time around him when I was with Diana during our teen years. 

One thing I will always remember about him is how he would talk to his bowling ball before they would go bowling. Like that was going to make him do better. LOL I know my parents have a lot of good memories with him as well. He will be missed by many people. 

During a BBQ at our home, my Papo showed us his military photo that he kept in his wallet.

I was with my Dad we all were at William Land Park when he had his first heart attack. My mom Emily Lopez drove him to the hospital, she didn't have a driver's license and I'm not even sure she knew how to drive. But she sure got him there fast and safe. She changed his diet made him exercise and changed his life for the better for a lot of years. My dad and I golfed a lot. He taught me the game of golf and I still play today looking just like him on the golf course is what my brother-in-law always tells me. He introduced me to a lot of people in Sacramento even the better part of Northern California. Every course we went to no matter what golf course, somebody knew him. They would always come up to me and say this about my dad. They would put their hand on my shoulder almost every time different men from different courses I've never met. And tell me that he was the best guy friend person they've ever met. He would do anything for his friends and they had nothing but great memories of my dad. My dad and his friends that we played with Gil Mondo and there were many more those are the best times I remember he was a good dad a great dad, but he was a hell of a man and my best friend. I love you Dad I will try to make you proud of me by raising my kids with the same respect that you did with us. I love you Dad you are my best friend.

My dad taught me everything that I know, on how to be a man, and father. I have so many memories of him that there's not enough room to write. One of my early memories is that he took us boys every weekend to watch him and his team play at Land Park. He was a catcher and that's the position I played my whole life. He had baseball equipment at our house all the time. He let us use it anytime we wanted to play baseball at Johnson Park. The whole neighborhood knew my dad, they knew he had the skills to be one of the best baseball players in Sacramento.
He used to take me the Circle K on Arden Way by the post office where he worked. He would buy me a Slurpee and him and I would have a Slurpee after work without any of the other kids knowing. Him and I would talk in the car until we are done with our Slurpees. We would then go home and never tell anybody we got them. My dad was stern, protective, but loving. He always made sure all 9 of us were safe every night. We would have to be home before the streetlights came on. And if you weren't he was waiting for you at the front door. Me and my brothers Mickey and Rodney would wrestle with him on the carpet in the living room. The only thing he didn't like is when I pulled his hair, that's what he said that's enough knock it off, and we would stop. I have many more memories that I will post I love you Dad always have and damn sure will always love you. I see you in me everytime I look in the mirror.
