John Earl Owens

John Earl Owens, 64, of Sacramento, California passed away on Wednesday November 10th, 2021. Born December 10th, 1956 in Sacramento, California, he was the son of the late Zella Irene Owens and Clinton Philip Owens. He was the last surviving child of four brothers: Phil; William and Joe Owens. John was happily married for 42 years to his devoted, late wife, Veneita Lea Owens. He was a devoted and loving father for 38 years to his daughter, Alicia Lynn Silva.

John Earl Owens was known for his kindness, generosity, and a great sense of humor throughout his life. He was a high school graduate in 1975 from Sacramento High School. After high school John attended Sacramento City College studying electronics. Afterward, he worked for over 30 years at Sacramento Coca-Cola. He married his high school sweetheart, Veneita Lea Owens on September 17th, 1977. Veneita gave birth to their only daughter, Alicia Lynn Silva, that he adored and loved on January 10th, 1983. After working at Coke, John retired. John loved working with his hands, often working on various woodwork projects and offering a helping hand to fix any home improvement problem for those he loved and cared about. He also had a great sense of humor and was always eager to tell a joke to anyone who he would engage with. John lived by values that centered on hard work and his love for God, family, and country.

He is survived by his daughter Alicia Lynn, son- in- law Kyle Aaron and, his grandson Hunter John River of Elk Grove, CA.

A memorial service for John will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95819.
