Jan is survived by her husband Curtis, children Susan (Dennis) Sweeney, David (Patti) Heimlich, Mark Heimlich and Karen (Jeff) Richards. Grandchildren: Traci (Matt) Feaster, Valerie (Ryan) Stewart, Kelly (Chris) Munroe, Brian (Tyler) Richards and Derek Richards. Great-grandchildren: McKenna, Ainsley, Jocelyn, Ty and Lily Feaster, Leanne and Caleb Stewart, and Mason Munroe. She is also survived by her brother Bruce Rakow, nieces, nephews and many granddogs.
Jan is preceded in death by her father Raymond, mother Margaret, stepmother Lorraine, brother James, and sister-in-law Marilyn.
Jan and Curtis were married on September 1, 1951. They moved to Sacramento in 1959 and raised their four children in Rosemont. Jan was strong in her faith and very active in the church. She loved singing in the choir where she met her husband Curtis in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, she continued to sing in the choir and served in many capacities.
Interests and hobbies included a love of music, reading, camping, travel, bowling, square & tap dancing. She also loved professional sports, including the SF Giants, Sacramento Kings and 49ers. Jan's family was very important to her, and she loved attending her children's, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren's sporting events, recitals, school activities and many more.
Jan loved being a wife, mom, grandma & great-grandma and spending time with her family and friends. Her heart and door was always open and accepting to all.
