Art was born to Fausto and Clara Vesco on January 23, 1925 in Rock Springs, WY and passed away on September 20, 2012 in Gold River, CA. Growing up he attended schools in Reno and Sparks, Nevada. At the age of 18 Art entered the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper and was involved in the Southern France Invasion and the Belgium Bulge. After his time in the military, Art worked for Southern Pacific Railroad and retired from Aerojet Liquid Rocket Co. in Sacramento after 30 years of service.
Art is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 35 years Hazel R. Vesco; parents Fausto and Clara; stepson Herman Knotts (June, surviving); sister Eileen Martin; and loving partner of 25 years Virginia Greenfield. He is survived by his stepdaughters Helen Elaine Lund (Fritz) and Marilyn Kaye McCormack (David); nieces Nancy Mull and Shayla Taylor (Kenny); 13 step grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a number of great-great grandchildren; the extended family of Virginia; as well as his life-long best friend Harry Parigini.
A Visitation will be held on Tues. September 25 from 4-7p.m. and Funeral Service on Wed. September 26 at 10a.m. Both services will be held at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd. Sacramento, CA 95819 (916) 451-7284.
